Eddie is from Texas and Nicole from Florida. They have been married since 2015. Eddie worked as a journeyman electrician for 13 years before becoming a filmmaker. Nicole is an OBGYN and works in Salinas. Since 2018 both have been involved in the worship team and youth ministry at Cypress. Currently, Eddie is working towards a Bachelor in Communications and a Masters in Christian Education through Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Ron and his wife, Charmane, have been married for 43 years, and have one daughter and two grandchildren. They retired from the auto parts business at the end of 2021 after 37 years in business. They have attended Cypress since the beginning of 2021. Ron previously served on the elder board of two churches. He has been serving in Men’s Ministry and Charmane has been involved with Women’s Ministry and Ladies’ Bible Study. They have hosted a small group in their home for almost 20 years.

John Favero and his wife, Philayna, were both born in Salinas. They have been married for 35 years and reside in Corral De Tierra. They have a daughter and four grandchildren in Salinas. Both are retired educators: Philayna from elementary and charter education, and John is a retired high school administrator. They have attended Cypress for 8 years and have been active in small groups and in the hospitality ministry. John is a member of the Cypress Staff Support Team and has assisted with Men’s Ministry.

Brian and his wife Laurel have been married for fifty years, and have three sons, one daughter, and six grandchildren. They have been at Cypress for 2 1/2 years, since retiring from their business and moving here from Escalon. They have been involved in ministry to people with special needs, and Brian has served on two previous Elder Boards. They have served here in the food give-away, discipleship, and as greeters.

Brian Nelson is from San Francisco and married his wife MaryJo in 1993. Together they have five children. At previous churches, Brian has served as a deacon and youth group leader. Both began attending Cypress in 2015 after moving to the East Garrison Community. Brian presently serves on the usher team, security team and the Nelsons host the East Garrison Cypress Small Group. Brian presently works for the City of Monterey and Manages Operations at Monterey Harbor. Captain MaryJo owns and operates Beachhopper II Diving Charters in Monterey.

Jason Hayward and his wife Katie both grew up in Salinas. They have been married 17 years and have four children, Tristyn, Kaelyn, Talon and Gideon. The Haywards have been attending Cypress since 2012 and have been serving with children and/or youth ministry for much of that time. Jason is currently a general contractor in the Salinas area while Katie homeschools their children.
